I don't know if anyone here is into it, but I thought I'd share my new (old) passion for NES. The ROM scene has come a long way in the last couple of years, and the new emulators are as smooth as the original systems.
My favorite is Jnes: http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/nes/jnes.html
and so far I've found every game I remember at: http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary's/Emulation/NES/ROMs/NES_roms_summary.htm
I was just tinkering with it until I got my adapter from retrousb.com, now I'm hooked hardcore. You can hook up an old Advantage or other controller via USB and use it with an emulator or any other game.
The new systems are nice, but right now I'm far more interested in improving my emulator setup so that I can play easier in the living room instead of just the den.

You can play a lot of these old console games online via Java clients. I think most don't support gamepads, but worthwhile if you don't want to have to download/install anything for a quick trip down memory lane.

I did the free 10 day period and it brought back plenty of memories. Lots of different systems and arcade to play. great now I sound like an Ad.

Yes, but you can't save games, play them full-screen, the sound isn't as good, etc. Emulators really are as good or better than the original. For example, I always hated that you couldn't save a game in Rygar, but you can save any game at any point in JNES.

I live by the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code actually, that'd be lame, and probably make me motion sick.
Funny thing when I got around to playing Ghostbusters on the C64 emulators, I told my brother, and god bless the guy, he remembered a cheat code for the thing we hadn't used since we were 8 or so years old.... Unfortunately, none of this is legal, but in fact, my nostalgia for such things is bad fruit from a bad copyright seed...... we had pirated Ghostbusters from the user group back in the day.
