Just a heads-up:
If you're heading to the Arena area you might run into a wee bit of blockage.

Sounds like they lost some coal. Too bad the train wasn't carrying cookies!
Oh jeez, I'm never gonna live this one down.
We were at a concert last night and Colleen pointed to one of those coal cars and said, "Doesn't that look wrong?" I told her to relax, that they were probably just unloading it or something. *facepalm*
I've watched coal unloading at a power plant. It's interesting. The old method I've seen they actually unhook each car when it's on top of a big hydraulic THING that picks the entire car up, tilts it sideways, and DUMPS. Insane.
The new method I saw was much nicer, they just drive real slow over a big pit with a conveyor belt that leads elsewhere and open a flap on the bottom of each car as they go over the hole. It takes special cars that have flaps in the bottom, though.
Both methods leave you choking on coal dust for the rest of the day. :(

Me too! And that's exactly what this looked like.
Well, except that the hydraulic thing looked suspiciously like an ordinary steam shovel, and we couldn't really figure out why the coal receptacle would be so close to a bridge.
It's funny to see the word "derail" on a message board as it usually relates to something else

yeah, they just tipped right on over.
Was Neil Ave still closed when you were there or had it re-opened?
It was open... but we weren't there until evening.
