Did anyone go to the open house at Neighborhood Launch yesterday, or is planning on going today? They're showing off the new "Contemporary Building" along fifth street:

I agree. Very nice spaces. A little pricey, but the location is definitely worth the money. I love how everything seems to be laid out in a very smart manner. These 5th street units all have garage access in the back, and there's semi-private walkways in between the garages and the units that make for a beautiful linear maze of porches and pathways. From the views on the top floors, you might notice some of the air conditioner units placed up on the roofs and mostly out of sight and out of the way. Every little space gets maximized. Very nice.

I think they are at the same level below ground as the units on 4th, but there is much more light coming in. I don't know if that's due to more windows or a more open configuration, but after being in both, I'd say these underground units were very well lit.
Photos 4,5,6,7 that I posted above are from the underground unit that we went inside of.

When they first started building this development I was rather negative about it. Seeing it now, I really think it's great. The pictures of the inside even make it more impressive. I find myself checking out the progress on my bike rather often and look forward toward the next phase :)

I think the contemporary side turned out pretty good. I am not real fond of the inside it feels real high energy. Maybe it’s the all glass fronts and being so close to the street. I like the side with the court yard a lot. But over all It’s looking pretty cool.

This has been such a nice addition to the downtown community ... and what density! It's great that each unit offers something different in terms of style, aesthetic and view - but it all looks cohesive. Does anyone know when the next phase of development will get started?

Beautiful spaces, very chicago style, they really did a good job with making them each look different and not mcmansion-style cookie cutter. While I thought it was beautiful and a great addition to the downtown, I didn't think it was a good spot for us. It didn't seem like it would be kid friendly, the rooms were awkwardly small in some of the houses.
I completely fell in love with the deck off the master bedroom in one of them, I could live on that deck! It wasn't a good fit for us though, so I think we'll stick to house hunting in victorian village. :)

Established in 2008, Neighborhood Launch has grown to become a real neighborhood with nearly 100 residents. On the eastern border of Neighborhood Launch, Hills Market Downtown will open by end of summer. There are also several restaurants, coffee shops, art institutions, theaters, parks and even some great shopping venues within walking distance.
If you have not visited Neighborhood Launch lately, stop by the Open House on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. This is a great opportunity to tour available townhomes, and to learn more about the new residential opportunities on the horizon.
The Open House will take place at one of our furnished units in Bishop’s Walk, 242 East Gay Street. Complimentary parking will be available at the parking lot at the corner of Gay and Normandy streets.
