I'm looking for a good auto mechanic in the downtown area. We have an old Saturn and an even older Oldsmobile. I used to take my Saturn to the dealer, but they're expensive and I'm not sure the service was really all that much better. Plus, with Saturn being phased out, I'm not sure they'll even be around all that much longer.

I've yet to be disappointed by a CU recommendation, so I'll definitely check them out. With my budget, an honest mechanic is a must.

My coolant system has a leak. I tried that stuff you pour into the radiator, but it didn't work.

And Mr. Sherman is personal friends with all those fellas. I didn't know Atlas changed names either. And I just had my oil changed there last night. Duhr. Still a big +1 though.

my ignorant guess would be that the crack is at the upper hose connection
I did one a few years ago on an altima, took an entire day but not too bad, fan belts and mounting bolts can be troublesome, but fairly plug and play
you would need jack stands/ramps, pb blaster, ratchet/sockets, pliers, and torque wrench
I would offer to help but time is scarce and my weekends are booked for the rest of the summer

I wanted to just post to say how impressed I've been with Complete Brake/Atlas Automotive. I just had to take my junker there again yesterday. They did some minor work on it that made it driveable again and didn't even charge me for it; they didn't give me any hassle when I opted against the more major repairs; and they didn't charge me for looking at it. My experience with them so far has been way above other mechanics I've dealt with in the past.
