Instead of another quixotic run for the Presidency, why not use your notoriety (not to mention your considerable legal skills) to advocate a grassroots movement that stands a realistic chance of breaking up the two-party system?
I mean, c'mon. The only thing you've shown us in the last eight years is that you can't win this game unless you change the rules.

If I were a Republican, I'd be pushing Nader to run with everything I had. Could easily be a repeat of Florida 2000, with Nader taking enough votes from the Democrats to seal the deal--and votes that the GOP could never take from the Democratic column on their own, at that.

I doubt that's true. Left wingers who find the Democratic party unappealing realize what happened in 2000. Most would rather vote for the unappealing party than waste their vote on the perennial upstart Nader and get the in their eyes abhorent party elected. Sarah Palin is enough to sway votes away from Nader and toward Obama from the ultra-left.

I like Nader. I fully support the dismantling of the two party system. There are more view points and politics than just capitalist, imperialist, consumerism, militaristic corporate controlled Democrats and capitalist, imperialist, consumerism militaristic, corporate controlled Republlicans.
I am going to vote for Obama even though he is an imperialist war monger wishing to intensify the war in Afganistan because I am a pragmatist in the situation.

I voted for Nader in 2000 (as did most of my family) because we didn't think Bush or Gore would lead this country well. I'm all for more parties. I just want ones that are better than the two we have, and none of these other candidates do anything for me. Obama and McCain are both honorable, intelligent men with good (yet differing) ideas on how to move America forward.

I know one Republican who intends to vote for Bob Barr because of McCain's pick for VP.

After so many runs and many different parties, Ralph Nader is a novelty candidate. McKinney's actions make her a joke candidate. Bob Barr - seems like an OK human being, I guess.
Cyclist, like it or not, we have a two party system. Do what you can to change it, but don't get pulled into throwing away your vote in such an important election year. Many people for many years have voted for third party candidates to send a message. That message hasn't been received.

I'm put off by the whole "throwing away your vote" statement, that's pretty offensive and disrespectful to those who will vote for other candidates other than McCain/Obama. Do you consider votes that go to a losing candidate as "thrown away"? If so would McCain voter in a Obama victory be "throwing his vote away"?
I am voting for Obama despite me not fully supporting him for pragmatic reasons.
