pretty sneaky sis...

There used to be a bar in Portsmouth that had tons of different board games sitting around. They also had home-y tablecloths and antiques. It was like drinking at Grandma's. How did that stuff avoid getting damaged? Service was slow as molasses so that nobody got drunk.
I'd be all about this. I love pinball.
An Oxygen Bar or at least a bar that had a few taps would be a nice addition to the scene. Has anyone been to O2 heaven?
^Ha, in 2002 another bar opened up in Portsmouth called O2. I thought it was going to be an oxygen bar, but nope it was just a bar. One night I went there and it had couches all over the place all of a sudden. The next morning it had burnt down.
I think this is a great idea. Columbus was actually a bigger pinball than arcade town back in the day. There were leagues and a good number of competitions as well as some serious pinball champions.
However, pinball machines can be a wicked mistress. I have a personal arcade collection with about 30 arcade games and one Dr Who pinball machine. We open it up about once a month for people to come play but mostly its "home use". I have spent more time working on the pin than all the other games combined. This coupled with that fact that pins run about 5X the initial investment and the fact that there are maybe one or two operators left in town makes it an interesting business proposition. There are a few places like this throughout the country but with maybe the exception of Ground Control (managed by and ex-Columbus native) most survive on the bar. I think last reports I got from Barcade was that a good number of games were out of order and their tweets really only focus on the beer offerings, not the games.
So, I say go for it. Just put the operational costs of managing a bunch of temperamental machines that dont draw as much revenue as they did back in the day in to your business plan.
Maybe if I add an O2 tank to this Donkey Kong machine we might have something...
Can this bar feature the Steampunk Pinball machine made by the fine folks at The Idea Foundry?
