A 4th generation Appalachian musician from West Virginia, Jack Ballengee Morris has been performing since the ripe old age of fourteen when he first began his career singing with father, David Morris. Deeply rooted in the music that inspired his father, Jack grew up understanding traditional music with stories, songs, sounds, and sensibilities in his soul. Tapping into the likes of: Ramblin Jack Elliott, John Prine, Elaine Purkey, John Lilley and the Morris Brothers, Jack’s own original music reflects his experiences and are told with a unique Appalachian storytelling style.
“One of my earliest music memories is of my Dad playing Frankie and Johnny on stage. It was magic. If a story is good it’s worth telling." - Jack B. Morris
