My company is relocating me to Columbus this Spring. I've lived in Philadelphia for a few years and have really been enjoying my farm share/ CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program. You know, when you pick up a mystery crate containing local veggies, fruit. dairy etc every week. Wanted some input on any programs like this in 'lumbus. From what I've seen of the city, I plan to live in the Short North or German Village sections (I'll take free advice on that topic as well...) Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Sippel Family Farm is currently accepting new members. http://www.sippelfamilyfarm.com
It's veggies, sometimes apples in the fall, and the option to purchase beef, pork, lamb, and cheese separately as it is available. We've been members for 7 years now, and have never been disappointed. Hope that helps! Good luck with your relocation!Posted 4 months ago # -
I've heard good things about Wayward Seed Farm. They are certified organic and pickup is available in the Short North at the North Market Farmers' Market

Its not always local stuff, especially in the winter, but Greener Grocer in the North Market does a weekly bag. Its a good deal and they have a newsletter that goes along with it giving you ideas for what to do with the things in the bag. They always list whats in the bag and where it came from in the newsletters, so you can check out some of the previous bags to get an idea of what you'd be getting.

+1 for the Greener Grocer bag. This is my second year participating in the program and I love it. Prior to enrolling in their Market Bag we joined a summer CSA and while a good experience much prefer what GG has to offer. The recipes are helpful and the newsletter makes meal planning for the week super easy.

Thank you! This is awesome info to get me started. Glad to know I can still get my surprise produce and local goods when I move!
