It appears the A&M Chicken and Fish Restaurant has gone to meet that great greasy yardbird in the sky.
The shift manager at another nearby fast food restaurant called 911. She tells ABC 6 she heard some sort of alarm--then saw the billowing black smoke--and called for help. Even though she doesn't work there, Charla Staten calls the fire personally devastating, "Really horrific for me. I had worked over there a few years ago. The building itself has some nostalgia for me. I just think its horrible"
I do suggest that any time a chicken shack goes funeral pyre on the district (and this makes 2 of the 3 corners that have burned in the last couple of years), a proper wake should be thrown.
