Does anyone know anything about this new establishment? Apparently it's moving into the old Cafe Del Mondo space on West 5th Ave. Anyone who knows me knows I'm dying for a British tea house within the 270 circle!

Most of this article is about the zoning variance the restaurant had to get from Marble Cliff Council, but there's a little bit about what they will serve:
MiMi's Teacup will occupy about 1,550 square feet plus 600 square feet of patio space. There will be seating for about 30 people.
The restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea service featuring on-site baked scones, tea breads, cupcakes and other sweets.
Fresh fruit, yogurt, house-made granola and breakfast casseroles will also be served for breakfast and on-site prepared seasonal soups, salads and sandwiches will be available for lunch.
Afternoon tea will be served in the traditional tiered style with tea, scones, cream and jam, finger sandwiches and mini-sweets.

First of all, can someone tell me how to fix the topic name? The place is Mimi's Teacup, not Tea Time. Also, I noticed that they are accepting job applications. It sounds like it would be a nice, laid back restaurant atmosphere.

Done. ;)

Sounds lovely, I'd definitely give MiMi's a go! My mom would insist on trying it out as well. :)
My favorite place for afternoon tea in Ohio is Central Perc in Oakwood (Dayton). Mike makes his own teas, Rose makes the scones fresh and they get their coffee from Brother Bear in Yellow Springs. The last place we had tea service was at Biddie's in Dublin. I see a listing for "Sugar Inc Cupcakes and Tea Service" there now as well. Persnickety Cottage and Tea House in Westerville was nice but a bit out of the way to make it a tradition. Has anyone tried Miss Mollie's in Grove City?
The next place we'll be checking out is Edith Mae's Tea Room in Xenia.

Anyone have a number or any contact info for this place? I know someone who would be a perfect hire for this.

Nope not an issue except she lives in Powell :p I think she'd be happy to work part time for a place like this and drive though. She is big into the full Teas and stuff.
thanks for the help

I love tea! I'm always up for a tea meet-up.

I love my tea. I drive by everyday on my way home looking for it to open. Someone needs to gather emails and send out a meet for afternoon tea. I didn't know about the place in Grove City and Westerville. Does everyone know about ZenCha Tea Salon? I go there often and to the Kelton House tea parties. :)

It's open. They don't have a sign up yet, but I drove past a couple times today, and they appeared to be doing a brisk business.

Okay, it's open and every review I hear is glowing. Who wants me to organize an informal CU Tea Time visit?

I'm in... maybe this time I won't blow a tire.

I have a feeling a weekend is the easiest time to schedule a gathering. Am I right? In any case, they seem to have changed their name, at least online. The web page is http://www.cambridgeteahouse.com/index.php

It's funny, when I first moved back to Columbus in 2006, I think there was an Italian restaurant there. When the restaurant closed, I wished for a tea room would go in, because I thought the Tudor architecture and size made it a perfect spot for such.

Stopped in the other morning for breakfast and tea before work. They seemed very excited to have a morning customer and even gave me a free sample of their scones. (They said lunch business has been good, but not so much from the early commuters.) I'm not usually a scone fan, but the plain scone was really quite delicious. I also ordered some of their pumpkin tea bread to-go-- it was a big hit both with my tummy and with my co-workers.
The tea was also good :) I will be going back.
