Just hit up Milo's Deli in Franklinton for lunch. I had never been before, and was really impressed by what I found. Bright and clean restaurant with a large variety of freshly made sandwiches, soups, and some really impressive looking desserts. I was tempted to just order 3 or 4 creme horns for lunch, but I was meeting Miss Erin Moore of CMC & FDA fame, and didn't want to look silly. ;)
Anyway, I went with the soup & "create your own" sandwich combo. Ham & Turkey on Sourdough with all of the toppings and a cup of their soup of the day (Crab & Corn Chowder). The soup was alright, but the sandwich was really good. The combo came with a drink, dill spear and chips for around $7.50 (I'd say that was ballpark because I was using a $10 gift card I bought online to pay for everything). Great value for lunch, and speedy service too. It sounds like they usually have a lunch crowd, but being MLKDay, it was much less busy today, which was nice.
Will definitely be back to try out some of their specialty sandwiches and desserts (they had some great looking cupcakes too).
I should also mention that I caught the #10 Broad St. bus from Downtown to Milo's and back. It runs on 10-minute headways during lunch hours, so it's possible to get over there and back in under an hour if you time it correctly. I had a very leisurely lunch and was gone for only 90 minutes.
Anyone else a fan of this place?
