Mill Run is on the rebound! Finally we were able to get the former Kmart partially leased to Floor & Decor (www.flooranddecoroutlets.com) who is set to open on Halloween/ First week of November in 80,081 sq ft with a flagship store.
KFC is committed to long term growth in Mill Run with complete renovations to the interior of their store and exterior as well.
Starbucks has renewed their lease after 10 years and plan on major interior renovations as well.
Now if we could just get some interest from a grocery store for the former Big Bear. I have contacted: Giant Eagle (committed to Kingsdale), Anderson's (they have a 39,000 sq ft grocery concept now), Buehlers, Meijer (they have a 100,000 sq ft grocery concept now but only in Chicago), Wal Mart (they have a smaller format store looking in Westerville) and all of have passed on our market claiming various reasons.
The former Big Bear is 96,296 sq ft and is difficult to "cut up" due to the depth of the building (+/-290').
In conjunction with the Listing Agent (Kevin Thaxton with Equity) for each property, I am chasing after Grafitti Burger for the former Fuddruckers and there is a rumor that a lease is being negotiated with a new restaurant for the former TGIF building.
