Is Milano's closed? corner of Westerville Rd and Oakland Park. Everytime I drive by there I see no cars in the lot. When did it close? I wanted to take B there because it is just something I think she should experience. last time I was there was at the bar dining room, the place was packed and there were performers singing, it was either kareoke or a piano man, I forget, but it was classic! the food I had wasn't the best but i had a great time.

that sucks. i think it was the only thing holding that corner together. shottensteins moved out, BBQ place vacant, Cajohns fiery foods left.
You are left with a Bingo hall, car repair places, some kind of nudie joint and ...a trailer park. 8(the red light at that intersection just turned to a yeild sign...

Milanos is now something else, The Arsenal. also on the camo sign it says something like "music studio", "game room", "gift shop", and something else, I forget. I keep wondering what is going on there since it is such a wierd sign.
B said it looks like a front, I agreed.Stuff I have found has pointed to some sort of religious place:
FREEDOMFEST
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!"

I loved the sign at Milano's that said "No Muscle Shirts". No place epitomized old school like that place. My dad had a love/hate relationship with it. Haven't been since '04. Sorry to hear of it's demise. The bartender (Felix?) and his wife put old school Italian in another joint. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Can’t really find much info, but there is a Milano’s Snugglers on E. Broad (Almost as good a name as Gooeyz).
Felix is associated with it.Posted 6 months ago # -
There is a cool image of the retro Milano's sign on Flickr, made with a Diana camera and 120 film. Kind of dreamy and fitting treatment.

They had one of those sunken bars and my wife said that when her dad took her as a kid, she thought the bartenders were "little people" (back then they used a different name for "little people".
It cracked me up that Milano's had two different kinds of veal parm. My dad always ordered the "fresh" veal. I think the other one was a chopped patty type thing.Posted 6 months ago #
