Is it possible to get an RSS feed for the Messageboard? I'm really liking Google Reader right now and I'd be able to get through a lot more of the posts on ColumbusUnderground if a feed was available.
Thanks,

Thanks,
There are forum mods for phpBB2, but most are pretty complex installs, and I haven't determined if they'd be worth my time yet. I have a few special google news feeds i set up pulled through bloglines.com, so I'm really digging the whole news feed thing myself.
Basically, I think the easiest way to keep up on new posts is to just use the View Posts Since Last Visit link from the front page, which will keep you updated on anything new.
But yeah, when i get some free time I may look into setting up some feeds. I don't think many messageboards do that, so it could be beneficial to have...
Ah, yes. The "View posts since last visit" works great. I actually hadn't created an account yet which was where my initial question about RSS syndication came from...I was always just anonymously browsing the site.
I did find a possible workaround for those readers out there who are anonymous or just those of us who like our RSS Readers. It uses technorati's (www.technorati.com) tagging feature. I found it from a guy who wanted a centralized place to have all the things he posts across many many sites/blogs. (http://www.seanbonner.com/blog/archives/001310.php) So, for example my technorati tag listed below will allow this post to show up in my Google Reader for the "thompsa6" feed:
So, you could possibly just hardcode similar tags to automatically show up at the bottom of each categorie's posts:
There might be an even easier way to do this from within phpBB or a phpBB extension/plugin that uses the automatic "pinging" capability of technorati (http://www.technorati.com/developers/ping/) ?

Greatest thing ever... Don't ever get rid of it! :D
Sorry this is a little OT but my friend just wrote a new free RSS reader. The interface is alot cleaner and easier to use than bloglines or google. You can also import your existing feeds from any service that exports to an OPML file. You can find it at http://feedhugger.com.
You must log in to post.
