Press Release:
Hennessy Questions Motive of Council's Visit
(April 13th,2011--COLUMBUS) - Columbus City Council is visiting the Westgate Community to personally discuss neighborhood issues and opportunities.
Daryl Hennessy, a Greater Hilltop resident and candidate for City Council said, "While I welcome the members of Council to the west side of town, no amount of campaign-year politicking will make up for the lack of elected representation and failed public policies affecting our community for years." Hennessy continues, "Council has neglected the west side with inadequate code enforcement resources, ongoing delayed job-creating infrastructure, and failed to deliver on promises to support new business development."
Hennessy continued, "It is not that our community has been silent about its needs as much as Council has not been listening to us for years. It is time to match the reality of our neighborhoods with the rhetoric of city hall."
Daryl Hennessy is the only Columbus City Council candidate from the west side in this years's election. He owns a successful, family-based design and construction company, committing nearly 20 years of volunteer service to his Columbus neighborhood, and is a public finance professional having worked on both the state and federal budgets. Hennessy wants to bring his private, public, and not-for-profit experience to City Council to make Columbus a better place to live, work, and grow business.
