Ok, this has been bugging me for some time.
I often see (mostly in print) artists describe their work as the following:
* using many mediums
* works in a variety of mediums
* explores several mediums
No, I am not the grammar police.
But, traditionally, unless you are talking about:
1) psychics (pl. mediums)
2) many jars of Acrylic Gloss medium or
3) many of a particular size of shirt (pl. mediums)
the plural of "medium" is "media".
i.e.: This artist works with a variety of media. I like to experiment with a broad range of artistic media.
There's a reason the term is "mixed-media" and not "mixed mediums". Right?
