I'm reading Pollan's In Defense of Food right now and I really don't think it is that debatable. The only reason that is on the FDA site is lobbyist and politicians.
I've read down the lines on both sides, and honestly, the case studies that have been performed by both sides are so morally skewed that "fact" is thrown into the wind in place of twisted results that are based on frequently false postulates.
Morals and science just plain don't mix a lot of the time.
On the other hand, the egg is the ONLY natural food you can eat that has EVERY type of protein essential for human survival in one source.
I always thought that was pretty bad ass.
