It doesn't matter how many times I see this. Ick.
That's why I buy my meat from the butcher or straight from the farmer, so I don't get - that - whatever it is.Posted 1 year ago # -

I think it looks delicious.
Like if candy and meat had a child that wouldn't give me diabetes.

Seen this doing the rounds on Facebook. I'm a little surprised... I did a Google image search a year or so ago for "chicken mcnuggets" and, although it was there, I'm not sure it was the most disturbing image of the bunch.

Man I love McDonald's chicken nuggets with hot mustard.
When I saw that on Huffington yesterday it was a moment wtf is that Shit, I won't be eating that any more. Makes me kind of sad
You know with all that crap they do to food like soaking it in chemicals I can't imagine why people are more and more hit with various ailmentsPosted 1 year ago # -
Professionally, I have seen where a lot of my food comes from.
I try not to buy ground products from grocery stores. That visual is nothing compared to how to the actual process of striping of the last bit of meat.About the only thing I've turned away from eating after seeing it all is foie gras. That is nasty stuff.

I don't buy ground meat because I want to decide what goes into the grinder. When an ordinary piece of chuck is ~$4/pound, and ground beef is ~$2/pound, something is askew.
The fat content of ground pork is amazing, based on shrinkage and drippings. The last time I cooked cheap bratwurst on the little gas grill it dripped so much fat that it pooled in the bottom of the grill and ignited. I took the meat off and killed the gas and let the grill burn itself out uncontrolled for about five minutes.
Then there are all the concerns about cross-contamination when a lot of meat goes through the same processing equipment.

"There's more: because it's crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia... Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color."
Just use tofu at that point, right?
"washed in ammonia"?!
That should be on the menu board...Posted 1 year ago # -
