Anyone else thing the human microphone is the second most annoying thing to come out of 2011? The first most annoying thing is the over-inflated sense of pride and importance the occupiers attach to their little gizmo.
I had to google this, I've never seen it done. Weird.
From an operational perspective it seems to me like it would be of limited usefulness as a broadcast to others. Really, can anyone actually understand what is being said by a bunch of people trying to talk in unison? I'm guessing. I've never seen it, but I can guess what it sounds like from hearing similar things and it's usually NOT very clear what is being said.
However... It seems like what it would be REALLY useful for is as a tool to reinforce a message in the minds of those doing the repeating. In a similar way repeated phrases in unison are used in churches and so forth to reinforce concepts in the minds of the followers and enhance a sense of being "in" the group. I also note that advertisers use unison (not harmony) nonsense vocals in background music for similar emotional purpose. Ford and Apple seem to do it a LOT lately.
just a thought
