Looks like I should learn to use the search function.

My mom caught it and called me. She wants to visit German Village but isn't too keen on sausage at this point. On the other hand, she LOVED the video of the CUers tackling the Dagwood much more than "the guy in that filthy brown coat." She's more into the trash talking during the meal, I guess.

Several of your favorite CU'ers took the challenge March 1st, 2008:

I'll have to get around to it soon. Still, I was kinda disappointed that only the South Side was visited (I'm sure residents aren't), but I guess that's where you get large portions of no-frills grub. It'd be nice to see other parts of the city get some air time.

I think ESPN U also did the Dagwood Challenge before the OSU v. USC game. That Drubner guy and Jenn Brown, or whomever. I think they were there with the Buck-I-Guy.
I was trying to find it on Youtube, but I haven't come across it yet.

Speaking of Man vs. Food...sorta off topic (b/c it's about MvF, but not Columbus) - they had an episode on the other night where they were visitng ballparks. And oh. my. goodness. One of the places had these Philly steak nachos that I'm still craving days later.
I really have to stop watching these shows when I'm hungry. It sends me into an obsessive mode where I crave something until that craving is sated.
I've got to say, I've tried the Dagwood. It's a lot of food, and a great price for all that food, but I wasn't particularly impressed by the sandwich other than the garlic mayo. Am I the lone person who thought it wasn't all that?

half way through the sodium content really wore me down. the garlic mayo doesn't hold up well through the course of all that meat either. That said. I may go take the dagwood challenge today and fail with a to go box just because it's so freaking cheap for all that food.

Swampkitty, you are not alone. It's nothing but a bunch of lunch meat on gigantic bread with some overly garlicky mayo on it. Big woop. The only thing it has going for it is its size because there's certainly nothing else special about it. Seriously. Pile meat on bread and poof - you've just made their dagwood.

I am pretty sure it was just re-aired because my dad called me and asked if I had ever heard of the Ohio Deli.

I feel like a pansy after not finishing the dagwood and then seeing this:
