Yeah! This is one of my favorite things to do in Columbus! I look forward to this every summer. Or, at least, every summer for the past 11 years.
This year's gonna be great, I think. Hope to see you all there!

Make sure to come see me as I work the last shift at the beer/drink truck! Those are always 3 of the most exciting hours at Volatility! At least for me.
Of course the rest of the day will be pretty darn exciting as well.
I even heard there is going to be a special area set aside for the kids!Posted 10 months ago # -
Some really great music this year. I'm really looking forward to the bands. And the food trucks. I will go pretty much anywhere several food trucks are gathered.

Volatility will feature a special, one-day version of the popular Improv Wars as seen at the Funny Bone on Tuesday nights. Broken into 3 preliminary rounds throughout the day, there will be great improv comedy happening all day culminating in a final round that is sure to draw some blood and leave at least 2 troupes dead on the floor. How can you miss that?

I am so excited! I always pick up some awesome REALLY AFFORDABLE artwork from the silent art auction. I like to get all boozed up and spend too much money and fight with strangers of art that I absolutely don't need. It is a tradition.

One of the plays that will be performed, Superhero by Mark Harvey Levine, was chosen for the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival.
Another of the plays, On the Porch One Crisp Spring Morning by Alex Dremann was performed a couple years ago at the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre in Louisville, KY.
Some great stuff going on. Don't miss it!

Columbus Alive blurb about Volatility
MadLab, the Downtown theater and gallery space, knows how to throw a party. Its annual Volatility festival and fundraiser focuses on booze, bands and comedy. What more could you want on a Saturday night?

Only two more days! I can't wait! I plan on having several of the Watershed drinks created just for Volatility. After, I work my shift at the door, that is. :-)
I'm also really excited about the bands, theatre, and comedy, too!

NFC rookies will attend from June 24-27 with AFC rookies to follow June 27-30.

"I'm at a point in my life where I'm not doing the same things that I used to," Jones said during Bengals minicamp last week. "Now that I'm grown up, you are accountable for certain things. Everything you do reflects on you, louis vuitton borse, and the consequences are yours."

Jones has volunteered the last two years to speak, lancel, but last year's symposium was not held because of the lockout. Bengals director of community relations noted it was the first time a Cincinnati player will participate as a speaker.

"He's got a heck of a story to tell, and I think he's an example of someone that has firsthand knowledge and is a good person (to do it), and I think he'll do well getting his message across," Ball said.

Still facing the past

When it comes to being held accountable, Jones got a sobering reminder of that Friday when a jury in , Nev., ruled he must pay $11.65 million in compensatory damages for his role in a February 2007 shooting at a strip club shooting. The incident left two men wounded, one of whom was paralyzed. Jones attorney, Lisa Rasmussen, told the Las Vegas Journal-Review the judgment "annihilated" Jones financially and that it would be appealed.

Rasmussen added: "It's the kind of judgment he likely won't ever be able to satisfy."

It was the strip club incident during NBA All-Star weekend that was the tipping point for Commissioner . Two months after the shooting, Jones was suspended for a season because of repeated violations of the personal conduct policy. In a two-year period from the time Jones was the sixth overall pick by the to his suspension, he was arrested six times and involved in 12 incidents in which police were called.

The suspension not only cost Jones financially he lost an estimated $8.75 million on a rookie contract that had a max value of $15.1 million but also made him in what happens to players who repeatedly run afoul of off-field problems. Of the money he did earn, Jones figures he spent roughly $5 million to $6 million and didn't save as much as he should have. Investments or solidifying his financial future were the furthest thing from his mind.

After being reinstated by the league in 2008 and traded to the ,louis vuitton sito ufficiale Entertainment blog en,burberry, borsa chanel, Jones signed a four-year contract that had a base value of $13.3 million with no guaranteed money. He earned $700,000 of that and was released at the end of the season. Jones signed with the Bengals in 2010, but his contracts have been at the league minimum. Because of a neck injury that caused him to miss the last nine games in 2010 and the first six of last year, Jones had a cap number over the two seasons of $946,235.39.

Jones re-signed with the Bengals nine days into free agency for one year at $950,louis vuitton outlet Everything is going smoothly. With the Bengals signing and in free agency along with selecting in the first round, chanel borse, there will be plenty of competition for playing time and roster spots.

During organized team activities and minicamp, louis vuitton sito ufficiale, Jones missed time because of a hamstring injury but also notes this is the best conditioned he has been since signing with the Bengals. It has also been the first full offseason program Jones has been in since his second year with the Titans.

Jones' message to rookies will stress two things: Keep a small inner circle and treat the game and your career as a business.

"I want to tell them what I went through and hopefully not make the same mistakes that I made. Please don't do what I did, chanel borse borsa chanel Suri Cruise Topics Page - USATODAY," Jones said. "Keep a group of people with you. There are a lot of guys that come from the same background that I do who run into a whole bunch of money. They don't respect the money. If they don't, they will be in the same situation I was."

Jones acknowledges that he had a large entourage early in his career and that he was trying to do everything for everyone, lancel pas cher, including flying childhood friends from Atlanta to games. Almost all of them disappeared, though, when Jones was without a job.

"When you get to that dark wall, the only person you can call is your mom," he said.

These days, Jones either hangs out with teammates or family, sac longchamp [thanks sharing] Morocco Internet executives s, including his fiance, chanel scarpe longchamp pas cher Healthy Perspective The lat, Trish, and his daughter, Triniti. He also changes his phone number frequently, so that only a small number of people have it.

Jones will also stress doing due diligence in picking the right agents and financial advisers, including making sure their backgrounds check out. That is something that he didn't do when entering the league seven years ago and regrets now. The certifies both.

When asked why he didn't, Jones says he was focusing on too many ancillary things instead of the bigger, burberry sito ufficiale, more important goals.

In assessing his early years in the league, sac longchamp, Jones offered a blunt assessment: "I was pathetic. I had no respect for the money that I got. I had respect for football but not the business part. I still thought I was in college and didn't realize the scrutiny that comes with the NFL."

Jones didn't fully understand how much the NFL was a business until the first time he was suspended by Goodell along with being in Dallas in 2008 and seeing how the Cowboys were run.

As for how Jones' message might be received, sac longchamp pas cher, Ball thinks it will go over well. At past symposiums, burberry, liu jo borse, the league has conducted role-playing skits of how to avoid certain situations, chanel borse, but the fact that a player can relate real-life experiences with rookies will resonate more.

"I think guys in (Jones') situation and have made the turn, I think Roger Goodell reaches out to those guys. Because they do have a story to tell, chanel occhiali, and it's a story that needs to be heard," Ball said. "We've had guys (at the symposium) in this situation. (One) told his message, lancel bb borse chanel prezzi Sprint Nextel Corporation Topi, louis vuitton outlet, but the problem with his delivery is it wasn't done with sincerity. He kind of slighted it. When Adam speaks to you, he does it with sincerity. And that's the message he'll be able to get across to the guys."

Besides the seminars and conducting a football clinic, borsa liu jo, rookies will visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, liu jo kate, which Ball thinks will give them a greater appreciation of the game.

The Bengals rookies are eager to hear Jones' message along with catching up with the rest of their draft class from throughout the league.

Kirkpatrick and wide receiver knew of Jones' past before they met him and came away with different impressions.

Marvin Jones said the talk will "definitely hit home," because they see him in the locker room every day. Kirkpatrick said that has been a great teammate to him during his first couple months, burberry borse, as far as things to watch on and off the field. The first thing Jones told Kirkpatrick was to stay low key and to surround himself with a positive inner circle.

Attendance at the symposium is required of draft picks, but just because they are there doesn't always mean they are listening. Ball hopes the Bengals' 10 draft picks will heed the messages from the symposium instead of learning the hard way.

Added Ball about Jones' participation: "He's not telling a story about what if or possibilities. It's when this happened and this is what happened and this is my mental thoughts about what I was going through at the time. He's even able to talk about and express his thought patterns now. How that has changed. What has changed him to not think about things the way he did in the past vs. something occurs now and he processes it a lot differently, and I've seen that in action."

While his past is a frequent source of conversation, Jones hopes the rookies will learn from his mistakes and that others will focus on the here and now.

"I'm really living for a purpose," Jones said. "I've had my ups and downs. If you want to keep judging by my past, borsa chanel, sac longchamp pliage, what does that make you?"
</more>
