Did anyone see it? I really wanted to see it and set my alarm but there were too many trees and houses in the way.

I normally leave for work at 6AM, so I just left a few minutes earlier today and got a great view of it. It was either darker than I was expecting, or behind a cloud for a lot of it, but I did get some nice solid looks at the big ol' blood-red moon.

We were up until around 4:30 AM and were watching the moon. I didn't have a telescope, but I thought I could see the shadow of the earth. There were no clouds, but I didn't see any red.

The moon and stars were stunning at various times this morning, just wishing I was out in the middle of nowhere! Yes I heard the one in February we will be able to see in its entirety. Love it.

"A harvest Moon appears brighter to the eye than any other full Moon. It's the closest full Moon to the autumnal equinox, and a traditional symbol of benevolence and fertility. Farmers finished their work in the fields by the light of this Moon. Its appearance, usually toward the end of September (this year on September 26), marks the beginning of the end of harvest season and the start of a new life cycle.
The symbolic meanings of the harvest Moon have been celebrated throughout the ages and across cultures. Its significance as a harbinger of new beginnings hasn't diminished a bit -- even if harvest time these days is more a feeling than a literal event for most. Indeed, the crispness of autumn inspires a feeling of change and renewal, and the intense, gold-orange shine of the harvest Moon seems to lend energy, strength and vitality to those of us basking in its glow!"

the moon has just been incredible the past 3-4 nights. I was heading into work tonight around 10, and it was just so full and just seemed to hang so low to the ground. It wasn't as red as it's been lately, but it's just amazing seeing it so huge!

It has been gorgeous. It is my favorite. Nothing finer than a clear night sky and a killer moon. One night it had a gold cast to it......so lovely.
Keep an eye out later this month..it will be bigger and brighter.
