C'mon! Someone tell me that you know something a restaurant called "Loops." I've been looking everywhere and can't find any info. Looks like that's what is opening at NW and King in 5xNW. They sell gyros, chicken and steak (judging by the sign on the building anyway).

Is this in the new commercial building at that intersection?

I was literally just about to post the same question. A google search yielded nothing, but its awesome to see this development starting to get filled in! Does anyone else know about any other potential businesses in this building?

Dear Restaurant Owners: before you put a sign up, HAVE A DAMN WEB PRESENCE!!! Even a facebook page! A FB page is free and easy. anyone can do it.
You can even go to all the restaurant pages who have your target clientele and invite all of their fans to like you!! it would take less than an hour!

@lisa So true.
We're going over right now with the video camera to see if we can get any info. Will post here and at 5xnw.com if we do.

Ok - I just got back. I know all the details, including what is going in a few doors down from their shop...
BUT, no video tonight because Andrew, one of the two owners, said that he wanted to NOT be in his work t-shirt on camera!
I'll be going back tomorrow at 2:30PM to get the whole thing on camera.
More tomorrow at http://www.5xnw.com.

No go on the video. Got there and the owner was MIA.
Basic details? Two brothers who formerly operated a full service greek restaurant in Powell are opening a casual fresh, handmade Greek restaurant in 5xNW. 10 items or less, price point under $8, free wi-fi, outdoor seating. Brothers are originally from Chicago, their parents from Greece. I've only met one brother (Andrew) and one of the managers, but they seem interested in making something great of the area.
Their building was the first one in 5xNW constructed completely under the 5XNW Urban Commercial Overlay, and the Commission thinks they hit a homerun. It's so much better than whatever (gas station) used to be there before.
Hope to open the Tuesday after Labor Day...Might even have a free preview night!
And, the spot immediately next to them is still for lease (has been talk of a dr. office, dentist office, even a coffee shop)...
The FOUR spaces next to that???!!!! Drum roll, please...
A Salon and Day Spa!
Was a little disappointed that the owner (who talked for at least 20 minutes the day before) was unavailable today. I think it will be a cool place to drop in...To me, it feels like the first patio-ed place off of 5th Ave (I know it's not, but it feels like it to me). Might also be because it's almost in my backyard!
Oh, and the walls are subway tiled with the words Northwest and King. Kind of cool...
I will go back soon for the whole scoop.

Great news. I'm glad to see that development come on line and fill up with good tenants.
And thanks for the ace reporting!

I am so glad to finally see a sign on that corner stating what will be going in there! I drive by there to and from work everyday.
I really like the building and the little patio on the King Avenue side. I wish them well and will definitely be stopping by once they open.
And thanks for the insight Angie! I really love what you are doing with the 5xNW Commission!

Thanks - working on getting my mind around how we can be really intentional about what we're doing, rather than these one off bits of info along the way.

A good update!
Andrew, one of the owners, called to say he was sorry for missing our appt., but that he had in fact sent an email that morning saying he couldn't make it. It obviously never reached me (neither here nor there)...
But was still excited to talk with us and wants to set up a time to meet again. We drove past on the way home tonight and the place was buzzing - I think it must have been workers, but STILL.
It sure was nice to see something nice on that corner! So excited!

I'm so glad to hear it will be a place with a patio! I'd been wondering what would be going in there and just noticed the sign a couple of days ago. Do you know if they have a liquor license?

Does anyone else want to go with me to make a quick video with these guys later this week? Might be fun to bring someone else along! If from 5xnw - even better!
@yumster - drive past some time before next week and look at the place at night. It looks fantastic.

Osulew and I ate dinner here last night and I dug it. I got the Fiery Feta gyro (I think that's what it was called, I suck at these things) and she got the gyro nachos. I am digging their pita, soft and fluffy goodness. My gyro meat was seasoned nicely as were the fries. I will definitely add it in to the rotation, especially while we still have a little patio weather left.

Did someone say Gyro????? Uh oh... I may have to go there right now.

the wife and I ate here at lunch time yesterday. I had a gyro with chicken and hummus. The chicken was a little dry, but the hummus was really good.
