Two brothers from Chicago are bringing their authentic Greek food to our little corner of Columbus, and am I glad they did! Loops is at the corner of King and Northwest in Fifth by Northwest, and officially opens Wednesday, September 8 at 11AM. We had the opportunity to stop in to their soft opening tonight. Andrew, treated my husband, my daughter and I to dinner. I had a steak gyro with feta, my husband had a lamb gyro. YUM-O! I am interested! i would not have thought that Loops = Chicago though, especially given the signage and bldg. Is it mostly a fast casual gyro place like the one that replaced Cowtown Pizza on Northwest Blvd a couple of blocks south (Hellas)? Would love a 5XNW 'gyro crawl'... :)

I don't think I've been to the greek place that took over Cowtown (haven't lived in this neighborhood that long). But I've been to Hellas and would say this is more...less...differently casual! Especially since Hellas has very little seating. Everytime we've had Hellas we've gotten it to go. Loops menu is not as large as Hellas, and they don't have the dessert that Hellas does.

The inside has subway tile throughout on purpose as a nod to the L. I have to be honest...what I like most is that it's about 3 minutes from my doorstep, has an outdoor patio, free wifi and those fries as SOOOO good! Could definitely see myself parking there for a meeting or working out of the house.

Sounds good to me. I like the idea of a nice patio on King closer than King Ave 5 or the overcrowded Third Ave bars, free wifi is a bonus!

It was packed last night when I drove by. I love Hellas, but same as you, never eat there. Will definitely check this place out.

I also like the gyros and patio at Jimmy V's but Loops looks like a nice addition to the nieghborhood.

I was at the bank and overhead their website will be "loopsgoodfood.com" and they will be open 11am til 9 pm (I think 7 days a week). It should be up sometime this week with their menu on it.

Went for lunch today, the food was really good and pretty cheap. Certainly worth going back. I had a gyro with steak, onions and mushrooms (the sauce is served on the side). In addition to Greek, they also have Chicago-style hotdogs and a kid's menu.

I can see this as a good concept in the same vein as Graffiti Burger/Chipotle/Etc. They don't have a liquor permit.

I was really impressed with Loops and checked it out for its grand opening per the suggestion of 5XNW. Got the Lake Street BBQ which was a pita stuffed with gyro meat and topped in Loops original BBQ sauce, housemade cole slaw, thick cut Parmesan-herb fries and diced tomatoes. Kind of reminded me of that fat sandwiches place on campus where you can get things like chicken fingers and fries put on sandwiches. But this is better. The fries and cole slaw were excellent and the girl in front of me who ordered a carryout hummus was shocked at the large portion she got for $4. The portions were a really good size for the money. I really liked it! Check it out CU!

Walked in after 2 PM, no one there, skeptical of the place, quite glad and suprised to find the food portions very generous, and served hot as it should be, and quick, (no one else there), and I will return!

It was OK, not bad. We tried it out and thought it was a bit pricey for what you are ordering (just casual food right?). Fries were delicious - everything else was so-so. Greek Corner on Lane Avenue has better food by far (if a bit of a stuffy atmosphere).

Menu was lame. No falaffel. Same stuff with different toppings... I should have drove the extra 15 minutes to the Gyro Shop on Henderson. Overpriced. $15.50 for 2 gyros and two small Cokes.

Stopped by Loops today for lunch - Andrew said hi and that things have been going really well...so much so that they're looking for their second location already. If you're a fan, and want some Loops in your area, stop by and tell them!
