yes indeed.
the best garage show he did was the 70 Hemi Challenger he always wanted when he was a kid,the detail of his story was awesome.
and then he takes the car outside and smokes the tires in his lot,and goes for a drive.
nothing like beating the crap out of a 200k car,and not worrying about spinning a rod bearing.

Yeah, I tend to like his pre-1940s and vintage sports car features myself, but he covers bikes, electrics and other oddball cars too..

Ha. Letterman reminds me of the "What Would Conan Do?" skit. Well, obviously Conan would not let NBC embarrass the hell out of him by giving him the Tonight Show and then taking it back and telling him he has to follow not funny Jay Leno.
I would probably watch Conan the same amount of times per week whatever time he was on, but it really sucks for him. I find it hard to believe that his contract did not contain language guaranteeing his time slot. He should sue his lawyers for malpractice.
I really like Conan and wish Jay Leno would disappear forever, so I hope Conan finds a network that appreciates him and will actually pay him.

This is a no-brainer. Ditch Leno, keep everything else the same. Since NBC is run by idiots, this will not pan out that way. If they lose Conan over this, Conan will have the last laugh. He has more talent than all of those other jokers combined.

don't blame Leno,the whole late night lineup on every network sucks.

Leno has never been funny. I think they need to right the wrong they made 17 years ago and give the Tonight show to Letterman, and bump Conan back to his 12:30 slot so I don't have to choose between them.
Also, Jon Stewart is one of the best interviewers in the world. Even though not always funny, he actually gets to the heart of a few issues, very few people ever touch.

If it was wrong they would have. Show's that don't produce income don't last 17 days, let alone 17 years. The dude's lasted 17 years because some people like him, not because he loses the network money. Moving him to a new timeslot might have been a mistake, but Jay Leno was never a mistake just b/c some people don't like him.

I watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. They pack just as much humor into 30 minutes as the other guys deliver in twice the time. I used to watch Letterman's opening monologue and his top 10 list, but once the Colbert Report hopped in after TDS I was lost forever.
As for Leno's prime time show, I think the opening killed it. That blaring big band sound made me reach for the remote before I knew what was on. It sounded so dated. I though the Merv Griffin show came back from the dead. I wonder if that show failed because it was poorly packaged.
I did sit through Jay's monologue once and didn't find him funny at all. I don't know if he's got bad writers or if he's egotistical enough to think he can write his own material but the jokes were lame. I've never been a big fan of his delivery.
I'm not overly impressed with George Lopez but he's interesting. His opening monologue has been rough when I watched but I think he plays off his guests better than other late night hosts.
I secretly hope that Conan and Letterman work out a deal where Conan moves to CBS so Jon Stewart gets stuck on TDS forver.

Everyone knows I watch a lot of TV, but I've gotta tell you, that's the only night NBC has anything that interests me, and only about half of it does. Not a fan of Parks and Rec, and Office is losing me pretty steadily. Community is brilliant though, and knowing you a little, think it'd be right up your alley humor wise.
ETA: I'm still about half paying attention to Heroes, hoping they fix it, but so far they haven't.

I can't believe NBC is sticking so hard to its "Conan is a failure at 11:30" case when it would be very easy to test.
There seems to be no doubt that Jay is not working out at 10pm, so pull his show and let Conan have six months of relatively normal lead-ins from that timeslot. If Conan can't deliver the same ratings or better than Leno did with Law & Order, Dateline and the other usual suspects in the 10pm slot, then and only then will I accept that Conan isn't going to work out at 11:30. If Conan DOES do better than Jay at 11:30, then there's even more evidence that Leno was the one tanking the whole night for NBC.
This experiment would mean Leno sits on the sidelines for six months, but I'd have to think NBC would prefer that to keeping Conan off the air for three years out of spite. Worst case for NBC would be to flounder for six more months and then get to bring Jay back for a triumphant return just in time for the Fall 2010 premieres. Of course, if Conan does well without Leno at 10, that means not only will Leno have to find somewhere else to work but that Zucker, Ebersol et al were all demonstrably wrong in their current situation. I'm not sure Zucker would risk that blow to his ego and reputation no matter how much sense it makes.
