I'm a part-time comedian (which, by the way, is the only job you can claim to have without actually having it at all in any way). Anyways, I'm interested in forming a sketch comedy troupe to do live shows and video sketches.
I'd really like to do something very original and unlike any local group. I'm a big fan of:
- The UCB
- Mr. Show
- Human Giant
- The State
- Monty Python
- The Whitest Kids U Know.
And I'm not so much a fan of things like MadTV and sketches that just consist of men dressing up as women or characters that are nothing more than cliches. For example:
- "Hey look it's a hillbilly"
- "Wow, wouldn't it be funny if we acted like stoners?
- "Valleygirl voices are always funny"
- Etc.
If you are a likeminded operson interested in starting up a new comedy troupe, please let me know.
