I'm in the very early planning stages for a new Columbus event --"The Columbus Invitational Arts Competition." The event will focus on local, independent, center-city arts collectives, both amateur and professional, and feature competition on both the visual and performing arts. The overall idea of the event is to promote the Columbus Arts community, and to bring attention to our local arts collectives.
I know there are several very good graphic designers among the regular posters here, and I thought it might be fun to have a mini-competition to design a logo for the new event.
The Fine Print: The only prize/compensation for winning will be that your design will be used to promote the event. We will need all rights to the winning entry. I will get input from the community on the winner, but the final decision will be at my discretion. In the event we don't get enough entries, none of the entries might be declared the winner.
So basically this does mean the winner, if there is one, would be donating his or her design to the event. On the other hand, we are hoping to make this a high profile event, and it might mean a lot of good exposure.
If you are interested in entering, please post your entry here, or PM me for alternate ways of getting me your entry.
