location for 70's theme party?

Does anyone know of a good location for a 70's theme party? I need a loft or warehouse space that can be transformed a bit (i.e. disco balls). Hardwood floor for dancing is a must. Would like something close to downtown if I can find it. It would need to accommodate 100-150 people.

Like the Venue at Smith Brothers--but they're booked.

And I guess I would be willing to forego the decorations if I could find a great space that isn't carpeted and designed for a wedding reception.

Contact the guys at A&R Bar next to the LC.. if they don't have a show you could book that space.

I'm not sure that Bristol has the best atmosphere ... In fact its about as far away from 70's as one can get!

There is a place that is just east on Hudson ... can't remember the name. Shoot... It's an old dance hall. It could be good.

Totally agree with you, but look at the original post; Smith Bros don't scream 70's arch to me either.

You'd be amazed what we can do with creative lighting and incredibly inexpensive decorations. We had a wedding held there a month or so ago and the space looked amazing.

Either way, have a great time and save a Harvey Wallbanger for me.

OSU is full of ugly buildings from the 70's. Maybe you can rent to old spot that One Nation was in. That building was built in 1976. Or in the 1974 Rhodes Tower.

a sweet 70s spot would be the hyatt on high and nationwide. hold the party in the "mall" area downstairs. do they still have those circles of neon on the ceiling?

When are you planning on having this party? In the winter? Or warmer months?

Confluence Park Restaurant has a dance floor and a great view of Downtown, plus it looks like it was built in the 70's.

I second that the A&R bar might be a good choice.

The Santa Maria has plenty of hardwood to dance on and it can be rented, but only in the summer.

I think they have been replaced by blue neon tubes. Those old Ohio Center/Battelle Hall circles were neat-O
