This might not be at the top of the list, but Camp Chase cemetery on the west side has a lot of historical significance. A lot of people don't really know it's there. Here's the wikipedia explanation:

Did anyone say the Zoo yet? The zoo is great. Especially the otters. There are two kinds.
My out of town guests are usually treated to a tour of Columbus that includes:
German Village: the Book Loft and Cup o Joe
Downtown: the Statehouse driveby (or tour if they're interested - it's underrated) and Gay Street for lunch at El Arepazo or Tip Top (Dirty Frank's and Indian Oven have made a few appearances in the lineup recently)
Short North: The North Market, and a walk up and down High Street for some window shopping.
When the mood strikes: dinner at Cafe Shish Kebab off Bethel, bike rides down Bryden/bike patch to Jeni's in Bexley, the Zoo, drinks at Hal and Al's

I noticed on a billboard recently that both COSI and the Zoo have been named number #1 in their respective areas by some group or another.
If true, that gives us the #1 library, zoo and science center in the nation!

Also if you do the Statehouse, check out the haunted tours in October. One of the few family friendly Halloween things left. They also do a "Cornerstone to Cupola" tour about once a year that takes you truly behind the scenes, including the walk up the stairs to the "dome".
