Join CAPA and the Lincoln Theatre Association as we celebrate the first birthday of the renovated and reopened Lincoln Theatre on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, from 12 pm - 4 pm! The event is free!
Events include an open house of the Lincoln Theatre, and an induction ceremony to debut the first star on its Walk of Fame!
Take a self-guided tour of all three floors of the historic theatre! On the main floor, there will be a short video presentation about the 2008-09 theatre renovation. Several of the Lincoln’s resident arts groups will have tables in the second-floor Cardinal Health Ballroom, offering information on the various programs and classes offered by each organization. The Jazz Arts Group’s Jazz Academy on the third floor will also be open for tours and information on upcoming programs and classes.
The Walk of Fame induction ceremony will begin at 1 pm. Afterward, Mayor Michael B. Coleman will cut the Lincoln Theatre’s birthday cake.
Author and Washington Post reporter Wil Haygood, a Columbus native and former King-Lincoln District resident, will be the first name engraved in the Walk of Fame, honoring his international literary and journalistic contributions.
We hope you can join us for this exciting free event!
