New boxing show on FX, premiered last night. I should qualify this by saying I'm a huge fan of boxing stories, but I loved this pilot. A lot of what we've seen in boxing movies before, former champ with something to prove and a stack of bills, etc. There's something about this particular former champ that strikes me differently though, possibly the inherent violence they reveal at the end of the show. Definitely going to keep watching!
p.s. I believe most people are fans of good boxing stories, be it On the Waterfront, Cinderella Man, Raging Bull, The Champ, Million Dollar Baby, or of course Rocky. Its a great venue to tell a story.
