Has anyone tried these? They are available at The Pearl Market. The pictures on their blog look really fancy, the flavors sound great and they are only $2.50. I saw their stand at Pearl Market last week and it looked really yummy but I didn't have a chance to try any.

I just tried these because someone in the office brought them in on Friday afternoon. I had the strawberry pomegranate and the chocolate beet and both were very good. There was also a very lemon that I didn't try. The ones I had were the small mini cupcakes, not regular sized.

Their cupcakes were nice (at Independent's Day), but there is a lesson here about customer service and flexibility.
They offer a bunch of flavors. Not only did they not think about offering a sample pack of all the flavors, but they were not willing to assemble one *for purchase* for me. They had some to taste and I tasted a couple of them, but they may well have gotten future customers if I had been able to sample them more leisurely and share w/ my family.
I liked the pomegranate one and they do a nice job having mini cupcakes stay moist. That said, I had totally forgotten who they were and only vaguely remembered having the cupcake. Having gotten a sampler would have prevented that.
Not bitching, just an observation.

Thank you for making me hungry for cupcakes. :)
I haven't tried theirs yet, but have tried cupcakes from almost every other cupcake shop in town. In general, I have a difficult time justifying the price when I know I can make the same thing at home and they'll taste just as good (if not better).Posted 1 year ago # -
I really hate to be the negative one when others have positive things to say, but I was not impressed. I tried two different cupcakes a friend purchased and with each thought, "Well, that's cake mix with some food coloring." It was light, dry, and did not have the flavor or texture of home-crafted goods. Also, the frosting seemed kind of oily, but that may have been because they were outside.

I love her cupcakes. She tries to incorporate local produce from Pearl market vendors into her cupcakes and she does some great combinations - I had a jalapeno and chocolate one a couple weeks ago.
As per the comment about not mixing and matching - there are some health dept. issues with opening the container and splitting up the contents. So that's probably why she didn't do it on site. Normally she has mixed packs you can buy, perhaps she sold out of them?

Can there please be an end in sight for this stupid cupcake trend? It's a Stuff White People Like post waiting to happen.

The Strawberry Pomegranate ones were pretty darn awesome. They were super moist from the jam in the middle. Wasn't as impressed with the Maple Bacon, much drier.

After trying her cupcakes at Independents' Day I'm a huge fan. Her stand was set up quite well, too. Bought a four-cupcake sampler; two each of Strawberry Pomegranate and Blueberry Maple Bacon. Both were fantastic and it was all down to the frosting. She makes the awesome whipped type not bakery frosting which can be too sweet. Can't wait to visit her at Pearl Market sometime soon!
