I've played most of the public golf courses in the Columbus area and am looking for somewhere new to try out. Does anyone have a suggestion for a quality, lesser-known course around town?

Westchester in Canal Winchester is a well maintained course from what I remember. How far are you willing to travel to play?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a quality, lesser-known course around town? What's your limit for drive time? I played Granville Golf Course for a work function last week and it was really nice. Lots of elevation change, which is nice after playing Mill Creek or even Bent Tree. With 161 being renovated, the travel time out there too bad.
I was gonna say Twin Oaks in dublin was a nice little 9-hole course, but google maps seems to suggest it was sold out for residential development.

+1 to Westchester--I play there somewhat frequently. The closing holes on the back nine are a challenge. The only drawback for me is that you're playing through a subdivision on the front nine.

East (formerly Tartan East) is a great and challenging course designed by Arthur Hills. It used to be private, I was a member two years ago.
It's tough to beat for a public course.

Clover Valley in Johnstown is a good course. I used to play there all the time. I would also highly recommend Granville Golf Course.

Blacklick is a really nice & fun course.
New Albany Links is unique because, as the name indicates, it's a links style course. That means not as many trees, but plenty of rolling hills and tall grass that will crush your spirit - but it is beautiful course.

Although it doesn't have any kind of rating system, the Dispatch Golf Guide is actually a comprehensive list of golf courses in Central Ohio. Maybe that could help generate some ideas.
