For anyone interested, I was just at the Lennox/OSU Target location and noticed that the front corner restaurant was closed off and that they were taking down the neon along the softlines-women's wall. I talked with a team member who informed me that Target has begun renovating this store and that it will include an expanded grocery section, similar in design to other recently built or renovated Target stores. It won't be a SuperTarget, but they will be expanding the overall size of the store by taking up a portion of the side parking lot.

Anyone know if they'll be applying for a liquor license, like the Pickerington Target? It would be super convenient to pick up beer while I'm in there on my weekly shopping trip. And by weekly I mean every other day, it seems.

According to my most accurate source, Craigslist they are hiring for a Bravo Cucina Italiano restaurant that is being built in the Lennox, so I'm deducing that is going where the Mexican restaurant used to be.

Good to know, I figured it would happen soon given that every other Target has been either relocated or renovated in the past few years. Even with the current design dating to 1996, it looks a heck of a lot better than Kmart.
Another bonus, large red balls!

This Target store is undergoing a PFresh remodel. The size of the building is not expanding. They will have a full grocery, including produce, meat, alcohol, and and expanded freezer/cooler. They will also have a new layout that is much easier to shop, including lots of newly designed departments. Expect the remodel to be done by mid-to-late March.
The best part about it is that Target's food standards are so much higher than Kroger, Giant Eagle, or Wal-mart. Plus they dominate Kroger and Giant Eagle's prices, too. They're the best place in the area.

Interesting. I was told that the building itself would be expanded, but perhaps that information or my interpretation of it was incorrect. Still, I'm very curious about this new PFresh concept. It might almost make up for the lack of a full service SuperTarget in Columbus and Ohio as a whole.

Found these PhotoBucket images from a Philadelphia-area PFresh Target remodel. Looks like the entire grocery offering is larger, even compared to the grocery/food sections in the more recently opened/renovated stores like Easton and Hilliard.

Target to add ‘PFresh’ grocery concept at 350 stores
Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal - by Paula Moore
Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 9:20am CST - Last Modified: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 4:02pm CSTTarget Corp. plans to expand 350 stores in 2010 to accommodate its new “PFresh†grocery concept, the discount retailer announced as part of Tuesday’s third-quarter earnings announcement.
--SNIP--
Target has long maintained sizable groceries at its SuperTarget stores, but the latest effort revolves around its smaller, general-merchandise stores.
The "PFresh" stores carry 50 to 200 percent more food products than traditional general-merchandise stores, including more produce, meats and bakery items. Those stores have roughly 1,500 square feet of retail space dedicated to fresh food, still substantially less than at the company’s SuperTarget stores.

This will help with one stop shopping needs. I love targets dry goods, like those fruit bits and potato chips.
I talked to a cashier the other day and he said the think it will be done by Spring.....

I liked my target for decent cheap clothes, electronics, seasonal stuff. I think adding a grocery is going to make it feel just like a super walmart. :( I hope not though.

March 27th is the expected grand opening. The feel of the store won't be much different from the new Targets in Columbus, so don't worry about the Wal-mart feel. The shoe department will also change dramatically. So does the beauty department. And I have it on good authority that the footprint of the store will not change. This is also the first PFresh store in the state of Ohio, which makes sense because its also the busiest.

Yeah, we were in there on Saturday and there seemed to be some reorganization going on throughout a few areas of the store. Will be interesting to see how it all looks. We have a love/hate relationship with the Lennox Target. Love that it's close to home. Hate that the product selection/availability is sometimes altered due to the nearby student demand. ;)

/berdawnbaitExcellent point. One time Sherman and I were eating some Rally's at the Central Point Rallys when an attractive girl got out of her car and went into Rallys. We assumed she was from the health department and couldn't be a customer.
