I really want to learn Photoshop. I am wondering if there are any Columbus artists or arts organizations that offer classes on this. I could take a class at Columbus State on it I believe, but I would rather not do that.
Any ideas?

i learned a lot just by playing around with it. it def. helps if you have someone who knows what they are doing to answer questions though.
google online photoshop tutorial. or go get some "photoshop for dummies" book and read it.
I'll happily give you a tutoring session. email me. daniel at skreened
Meetup.com has a Photoshopper group in Columbus. I'm sure lots of people would teach you the basics for free. You could always pay a poor art/design student for a few simple tutorials.
The Fuse Factory does Photoshop classes from time to time. Looks like the only one they have coming up soon though is more specifically catered to "digital scrapbooking":
I do the graphic artistry for my company (by defacto default). I am not a pro or schooled in any way and would pale next to a real artist but I learned most everything from random web tutorials and DeviantArt.
I belive that illustrator is as important to know as PS.
Getting a Classroom-in-a-book at Borders or Barnes & Noble is a great way to learn the program, quickly and easily.
I remember taking a Photoshop class at Columbus State years ago that was dreadful. The first two weeks were spent learning how to use a mouse, save a file, and explaining the toolbar.
I read the Classroom-in-a-book that they were teaching from in just a few days and tested out of the class by taking the final exam with ease.
Depending on which version you have, this series is really good. It's also nice to have the book so you can go back to reference things that you've forgotten.
