Latitude 41 hosts Reds, Whites, and Blues event to benefit March of DimesCOLUMBUS – Latitude 41 will be hosting a Reds, Whites and Blues wine and food tasting event to benefit the March of Dimes on Thursday, July 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the rooftop pool terrace of The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel.
“Grassroots events like these allow us to raise much-needed dollars to support our mission of improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality,†said Brianne McFarland, Community Director of the Central Ohio Chapter of the March of Dimes. “This will also be a great chance for the Central Ohio community to see the recently completed beautiful $16.5 million renovation of the hotel.â€
In keeping with the Reds, Whites and Blues theme, Latitude 41’s celebrated Chef Tony Miller will be preparing Southern blues food paired with both red and white wines that are being generously donated by Glazer’s Distributing. Items on the menu will include pulled shoulder of natural pork with Latitude 41’s signature dry rub; grilled spiced duck sausage; seared mahi-mahi brochettes with pineapple and macadamia nut salsa; buttery corn on the cob; country style crushed red potatoes; red creamer potato salad; grilled vegetable and penne pasta salad; seafood salad made with mussels, shrimp, scallops, teardrop tomatoes and a citrus vinaigrette; Asian cabbage slaw; fresh salad bar; and the chef’s selection of fresh fruit.
The event will also include live entertainment and will be held on the beautiful rooftop pool terrace where guests will enjoy a great view of downtown Columbus.
Tickets for the event cost $25 and proceeds will benefit the March of Dimes. The tickets will be available for purchase online at http://www.marchofdimes.com/ohio/ , via phone at Latitude 41 (614-233-7541) or at the Central Ohio Division of March of Dimes (614-231-7935) leading up to the event. Yeah, going to be a great event.
We'll be doing a new video podcast at this event, so if any CU'ers want to give their thoughts on the food we'll be doing a little interview portion. ;)

Way to be on this hazy stars! Mmm, I've heard nothing but brilliant comments about what comes out of the kitchen at Latitude 41. I've also heard that food tastes even better when you know you're contributing to a good cause. The weather should be nice and summery for the pool deck too.
