Checked Black Swan out from the library. The movie had me right up until the end. I found the ending to be frustrating and kind of weak, I don't need closure, but I needed something more than was given. Overall, was really happy we didn't go to theaters to see it.

Say The Avengers again in IMAX 3D at Easton. AMC switched to a new kind of IMAX 3D glasses which are more comfortable than the old kind but cause a lot more glare. They caused so much glare and eye strain that I probably won't watch another IMAX 3D film at AMC.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.
Get the Flash Videos They messed up the trailer! They had Eli Wallach as the bad and Lee Van Cleef as the ugly. Oops!

True Romance.
Fun to be reminded of the days when Brad Pitt played second fiddle to Christian Slater. Still holds up as a pretty bad-ass movie.

Tarantino at his best.

Again the 3D movies pretty much leave me unthrilled. As someone that wears glasses, putting on another pair of ill-fitted 3D glasses over them ruins it for me and often takes me out of my "movie place". Last 3D flick I saw was the latest Ghost Rider crap that the major 3D effect was repeated "Lens Flare" through the movie. Thankfully I didn't have to pay for my tix on this cinematic disaster.
Until they come out with glassless 3D I won't waste my movie dollars on this new-tech reboot of the 50's 3D fad. The line-up of summer flicks has me happy though.

I got around to watching Chronicle on blu-ray and really enjoyed it. Very cool spin on the super-hero genre if you could make that comparison. Well worth the watch, plus really good cast that's relatively unknown.

Cabin in the Woods... I want my $9.50 back, it should have a disclaimer for horror fans that it is not a horror movie. I normally like the stuff Whedon is involved with, but not this- not this at all.

Just got back from "The Avengers." Very well done and after two tries, finally got The Hulk right.

The Avengers....for the second time. One of the most entertaining movies I've seen. Nerdgasms were frequent. The first Easter egg is killer and cannot wait to see how that will unfold.

The Grey starring Liam Neeson.
It reminded me of the 1993 movie Alive which details the story of a Uruguayan rugby team who were involved in plane crash high up in Andes mountains and through the course of their survival turn to cannibalism. Except in this movie all you keep hearing is Liam Neeson's voice repeating his quote from 2008's Taken where he tells a kidnapper "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."
But as you struggle to recall that quote in full you'll notice they too have crashed in snowy desolate mountains, weird! Then just when you think they're going to eat some human flesh crazy ass wolves come in like Navy Seals and start picking them off one by one. In the end it's just Liam Neeson, a one man wolf pack and you think back to taken and "I push one button and 38 agents are here before you have time to scratch your worthless balls" and you wonder why the wolves are so angry with him and where those 38 agents are then.
Recommended.

"Let Me In' is the American remake of the Swedish film "Let The Right One In'.
If you liked it you should watch the original. It's even better.

Of course with Friday the 13th and all I made this weekend about scary movies. So I watched this one called Shrooms (2007) and
LOL
So silly but good it is definitely a cautionary tale (Do not go tripping in the woods or have sex or you die.)

"♫There's No Room in his heart for you 'cus Doc Loves Movies!♫"I'm not a fan of 3D just because I think it takes away from the film. Case in point, I've seen the avengers with and without 3D. 3D tends to detract for all that is going on, makes really busy scenes appear fake as the 3D focuses on 1 element and blurs everything in the background.
Last movie I saw in the theater was TED (funny), and at home it was Final Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer (bleh).

We Need to Talk About Kevin.

Pretty distrubing and totally reinforced our decision to not have kids :D
Tilda Swinson's performance was riveting.
