So I don't think my printer is out of ink. But there is a nice line of smudge about a half an inch wide that goes down the whole page, same spot every time. It's an HP Laserjet 3050 all in one.
And go.

Sounded at first to me like it could be a fuser issue, but then I found this:
So hopefully either the printer needs cleaned, or it needs a new ink cartridge/imaging drum put in.
