I've always been partial to something a little more visually stunning, but profiles will do. Something like this http://about.me/alexis or this http://about.me/leolaporte would be amazing for visual, preforming, etc art.
There's something so much more human about big photo than a thumbnail or a lightbox, IMHO.
Still- good effort. Just sayin'.

Yeah, about.me is pretty compelling. Simple, but compelling.
I haven't used the tools that make these simple sites, but it seems to create awesome visually stunning results.
Got ~400K of investment and was acquired in about 4 days by AOL for, oh, an estimated 10s of millions of dollars.
Pretty crazy.
There's big money in software with a little creativity and timing.
