Ok, been searching for at least two years. Is there any korean BBQ in Columbus where we can get meat jun/chen-ya? Korean food and Korean BBQ are two different things and I've found plenty of great Korean food but nowhere that knows what meat jun is yet.
Also - Indian grocery stores? My fall/winter project is learning to cook Indian food. I know about Patel Bros in Kenny Center - anything else that is closer to N. Campus/better/etc?

According to google, there a "Royal India" at 3504 N High by North Broadway.

Patel Brother's just off of Old Henderson Rd. rules. It's where Taj Mahal and many other local Indian restaurants buy their ingredients.
While there, be sure to check out the Japanese grocer, Tensuke Market, just around the corner.

about75% sure they shut down a few years ago.. but i could be wrong
i go to Patel Bros they seem to have the best selection and pricing

Kaya Restaurant on Reed & Henderson (just South of Henderson) has Korean grill/BBQ options. I've had it, but haven't experienced Korean BBQ anywhere else, so I can't really judge the quality in comparison. I liked what we had - though I thought it was strange that they had grills in the tables, but went ahead and cooked it for us on them anyway, instead of letting us do it.
They don't have a website or online menu I can find, so I don't know if they have what you're looking for specifically, but you could try calling.

Ka-Ya on Reed Rd. has great food, the service is a little spotty (I attribute most of this to "authenticity" i.e. English as a second language.) They do BBQ there, everyone I've been there with has seemed to like it pretty well.
Everyone there is friendly, but occasionally I'll order stuff and they'll just be like "no, you wouldn't like it." Part of me is like "no, I really do want that!" and then part of me is also like, hey, maybe they know I wouldn't like it.

I don't know about the specific dishes you mentioned, but there's a Korean BBQ place on campus, Diaspora, at 2118 N. High St. I know it has the usual dishes, galbi and bulgogi.

The only korean places I know that will let you grill your own food is Kaya on reed rd and "japanese restaurant" which is actually Korean on High st. Both places you have to request a table for BBQ otherwise they try to avoid it since it is more work for them.
Shilla also on Reed rd by the Sears hardware used to do it all the time but since the renovations I don't think the Kim's want to do it anymore even if you request. Also Kikyo on Riverside MIGHT do it because they are under Korean ownership as well.
IMO Kaya is the best korean place since the it was put under the most recent ownership. The original owners had a korean restaurant in Bethel Center close to the BW3's and they just weren't doing well. The new owner is the guy that used to own "korean restaurant" at the corner of Lane ave and High before it was knocked down and turned into a BW3's.
Oh and a decent buffet is located in Dublin in a plaza behind Tuttle crossing. You can order off a menu there also.
Don't go to Minga across from Micro center. I can't stand their service or food.
Sorry I can't be help on the Indian but what everyone else says seems on par. I only know so much on the Korean end because my Dad is friends with all the owners and was head of Korean commerce in Columbus for over 20 years :P

authenticity has nothing to do with service which has hardly anything to do with esl/esol/efl.

Oh, I used to love that place. It was pretty ghetto, but for some reason it was always enjoyable. I loved walking back the little alleyway to get there. I seem to recall his soups being really good. Glad to hear he's still around and that he picked up Kaya.

Did they change owners at some point? It seemed like the service and food used to be better there. I used to go there all the time, but now it's the last place I go.
The only problem I had with that place when I was going is they had one tall waitress that would get super flustered whenever she'd talk to me.. it was extremely weird and made for at least one somewhat uncomfortable date.
EDIT: This might be a good place to ask, are there any other Korean groceries besides Toul-Bo?

Toul-bo is my favorite Korean Grocery because the Big Korean version Santa Claus (Mr. Chi) is a close family friend and they are always really nice and helpful. It's funny too because Toul-bo means "hairy man" so it completely fits him but is is also a large chain or was in Korea.
There is LOTTE on High st by morse Rd but I don't like those owners much (there is a lot of dirt I know, same with Minga but don't want to get into it). Minga has changed owners at least once. The Original Lotte was in Graceland but the owner or his wife got sick and couldn't run it anymore and moved to VA to be with Family. Lee's Market Used to be on High st close to Lane but same thing, they had to close down because the owner got very sick and after he passed away his wife closed shop and moved also.
Then in Bethel Center they opened a korean Grocery off the corner where the BW3'S is and that is the newest korean Grocery. I've heard a lot of good things about them. Also in that one and Toul-bo they have a section to sit down and eat some home style cooking. I think in Toul-bo you have to Ask Mrs. Chi what she is serving that day.
There are also two korean Bakeries that I am not super fond of. The one in Bethel center doesn't have a lot of bread but AWESOME rice cake (dduk) and some form of sweet potato cake. Then there is the bakery next to Micro Center Tea zone which I think changed owners 3 times and is always disappointing to me.
