OK, it's been a pretty grumpy Tuesday on CU, but here's something that will melt your heart: kittens!
And no, not just any kittens.
Neighbor kittens.
Cute neighbor kittens.
Cute, adoptable neighbor kittens.
Yes, that's right, folks. Three fuzzy little bundles of unadulterated affection are just waiting for you to welcome them into your home. They're about seven weeks old, they've been using the litter box, they're just about weaned, and they're ready for a home that isn't my neighbor's garage. Their mother is feral, their dad is a deadbeat, and our neighbor has been visiting them every day so they're very used to people and very affectionate. We're taking two (of the original five), but that leaves three looking for a home, and the shelters are all full.

I'm DEFINITELY a dog person, but DAMN those are cute little furballies! I hope they find good homes. They'd be snacky food for two hungry dogs 'round these parts.

The pics don't really do them justice. All kittens are cute, of course, but for some reason these are just captivating. You can watch 'em play for hours.

I would love to take one however I think my roomates 2 dogs would love to take one as well. all though I think the dogs and I have different views on the word take. :cry:

I'll take cats over dogs any day. Don't have to rush home to let them out, they come to you when they want entertainment and affection and, if you have more than one, it's better than cable.
Lysol takes care of the counter issue. That and spray bottle of water to correct said behavior... :D

In a household where Colleen cooks? Not likely. Countertops are off-limits. Spray bottles help, but if you get them used to a tone of voice that means "no" early enough, that actually works too.
Plus, they're self-cleaning. :D

Gotta chime in although currently pet-less: Cats and dogs are smart and if you explain early on that you'd prefer they not step on kitchen/dining surfaces, they will not do so. With dogs it may take several discussions, but when they learn what makes you happy they are totally on it.
OT: I went to this huge expensive house in GV once for a political fundraiser and was shocked to find it was filthy with animal hair and there were cats on the tables where they were serving hors d'oeuvres. Absolutely disgusting.

I think I would need a magnifying glass at this point to answer that question. But there are three to choose from, so the odds are pretty good... and your friend is welcome to come and, ah, inspect the goods.
