The Economic and Community Development Institute recently hosted a grand opening celebration for its new commercial kitchen. Located within The Food Fort at 1655 Old Leonard Rd. in Columbus, the commercial kitchen was created with the small business culinary startup in mind, as it allows companies to prepare their products in an affordable environment that meets all the local health department’s safety requirements.

Kitchen incubator facility to open in Franklinton

Entrepreneurs with food-based business ideas will soon find it easier to test their products when The Commissary on Town Street opens its doors. This new kitchen incubator will provide a commercial-grade environment for food startups to develop recipes, test products and collaborate with like-minded individuals and mentors.

Launched in August 2010, TheMetropreneur.com is a local online resource devoted to small business development and entrepreneurship. Its aim is to tell the stories of Central Ohio's business community, foster regional economic development and assist entrepreneurs with its resource-heavy focus.
