Anyone else looking forward? I ain't gonna lie, anything with Al Swearengen I'd watch, but this seems kinda interesting. Imaginary world, David v. Goliath, it all kind of sounds cool.

This show could be nothing but Ian McShane and I'd keep watching. He's pretty much as close to reprising the style of Al Swearengen as you're going to get. Worth watching if you're a fan for sure.
Watched it. Thought it was pretty good, esp. for a pilot. McShane great as expected.
Yeah, it is DEFINITELY far reaching. To launch a pilot with an imaginary monarchy, in an imaginary country, with an imaginary history, in an imaginary war, vs. another imaginary country...have that all be completely central to the plot...explain it all...and that is just the setting for the actual story??? Pretty ambitious.
I think they pulled it off though.
stupid dvr didn't work. :(
where can I watch it?
Dangit! I've been looking forward to this show since I saw the promo and I totally forgot about it. I hope it's easily available through the interwebs (legitimately, of course).
thanks buddy
Pretty solid 2nd episode IMO.
agreed. i really like this show. Ian McShane = badass
Loving it. Something really Shakespearean in the dialogue and story both, actually much like Deadwood. From the comic relief castle guards to the political intrigue and mystic forces, I feel like I could be watching a very elaborate play.
Wait, hold on. Are you saying that this TV show is so good, it's almost as good as watching a play?
coremodels. i wrote this down. we agree on something.
I wrote this down too. Hi fellas.
I can't wait to see Core's posts in the new "Plays" forum!
Personally, I think Ibsen is so sterile in this American post-moon-landing milieu that he almost parodies himself. He should be thrown out of the canon. Or shot out of a cannon. Personally, I prefer a good Mamet or Dresser--or Serling. Am I right???
Actually, considering Glengarry is the one play I'd travel just about anywhere to see, yes...I agree ;)
There, and I've dragged out another fact about you. I win again, Core. You are the nettly cone of a Black Pine, and I am the American Crossbill that vexes you so.
Also, drunk.
Cheers mate! :D
Jim thinks Core and I should get married. I disagree, but I'd love for him to be my live-in TV buddy :P
Haven't watched the 2nd episode yet (catching up on 3 weeks of Damages now and then it's next!!), but I really liked the pilot. It's like all the good things from Jericho, 24, and fill in any other family drama show. Hopefully people watch it, but Ian McHotty said on some show I was watching (The Daily Show maybe?) that they've filmed 13 episodes so we should at least get a whole season. Yay!
Surprisingly, this got me interested in re-reading the whole King David saga from The Bible. Pretty much scene for scene so far (and name for name).
This show is just plain awesome, loving it. Only one of 2 or 3 shows on the three major networks that has any edge to it at all.
