I would imagine something like this could be effective on a lot of Columbus streets. There is a small buffer, but it is separated by a short, concrete post every 30' or so allowing cars to enter driveways and even parallel park within the bike lane. The concrete post, however, might be subject to damage from snow plows, but it's a good for deterring cars from going into the bike lane unless they want to do some major body work.
