I have to admit that I've not read the original comic, but I'm fairly excited about this:

More than willing to give it a chance, but it looks a lot like Mystery Men to me, which I hated.

Yeah, Mystery Men was a bit campy, too much forced comedy. But this seems like it may be naturally comedic. I'll look forward to this in April.

Mystery Men = PG13
Kick Ass = RThat doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of whether or not the comedy holds up, but I think it will be bit more adult in nature than Mystery Men was.

PS - If you want to ruin it... here's a scene from the movie worth checking out:

If this stays remotely true to the comic, this definitely isn't Mystery Men.

There has been so much for this film already and I love it! Just saw the soundboard widget on IGN which is awesome and then I heard about the Kick Ass headquarters at Real Life superheroes.org. I wish i was at comicon to see more of this!

Roger Ebert called it reprehensible.

Aren't critics not supposed to say things like "and at the end of the movie when ______" and then actually fill in that blank?

It's hovering at 75% on RT with 150+ reviews. Not bad.
Headed to see it tonight. :D
