My oil needs changing and I don't feel like finding a mechanic to do the work.
I mean it's an oil change, how hard can it be?
So I pick the closest chain called Jiffy Lube.
The waiting room has two sports illustrated from about a year ago, so I just stand and watch them work on my car. Watch them change the oil. Watch the mechanic (?) whack the air filter house with his fist as he tries to force it back on. Watch as someone fiddles with the tire valves.
I get the car home and sure enough, the air filter is clamped down wrong, I undo the clamps, seat it correctly and clamp it back down, no problem. I sigh and go in the house, promising not to go back there again.
So three days later (today), I'm at the grocery store and upon approaching my SUV I notice my tires look a little flat. I pull the pressure gage from under the driver's seat and check the pressure. It reads 32. 12 psi under what it should be. So I check the other tires. 32! Now I had new tires put on just 6 weeks ago, December 13th, I remember.
Then it dawns on me. The Jiffy Boob pinhead let the pressure OUT of all four tires down to 32. Despite it being printed on the side of the tire that it is supposed to be inflated to 44.
I am so pisssed!
I'll be taking it to a better place this weekend for an oil change and filters. There is no way I can trust that they did anything right.
