Not sure if there has been discussion on this, but word is Jeni's Ice Cream will be going in near the North Star restaurant on High Street in north Clintonville.
Pretty Cool.

Clintonville? Hah! Come on, you can get Jeni's at De Viti's market on the border between northern Akron and Tallmadge now. Expanding to Clintonville is nothing at this point. Now I just want her to open an actual parlor up here. There are a lot of new places opening up in downtown Akron, actually--lots of previously vacant storefronts filling up again, though there are many left. Also, we don't have an ice cream parlor downtown yet, so for the moment, the competition would be minimal. (The question of what to do in the winter would remain, of course, but I presume that they've dealt with that question before.) It could happen!
P.S. Until I finished the pear Riesling sorbet yesterday, I had six pints of Jeni's in my freezer; down to five now. Also trying to get others in the office hooked on it. Don't say I'm not doing my part to get her up here!

I there's a Caribou Coffee on the other end.
Coffee and ice cream do go together as Jeni already knows. And some additional outdoor seating would round out this block. After this goes in (if this is the spot), I just might have to go north of Broadway a bit more often.
