Well, that's definitely a new signpost in a road that's been full of bad signs, but I don't think that's going to come as too much of a surprise to the regular followers of urban development news on this site. The answer to your question is, in a word, "nothing."

This is very sad news. That neighborhood, when built out, would have been one of the best around and a huge boost to that corner of Italian Village. I'd like to see some other developer go in and build something a little more affordable yet keep with the modern feel of the other new buildings. There is still so much potential over there.
I'm guessing those doctor's offices for the southeastern portion were nixed as well.
The whole site, as it stands, is pretty pathetic and an eyesore from the highway. How about Harrison Park, Part II, with a more modern touch. These are developers who actually get it. Just don't like the surface lots, but it does keep the cost down. oh well. either way, it's really nice over there.

I asked because I'm pretty sure they got the city to build and maintain public roads through there (in addition to sewer/electric), and I can't imagine the city being happy that they did their half and the developer has pretty much bailed.

Brutal economy, but it seems it was struggling prior to the meltdown.

Looks like it's time to plant some grass there. It would make a nice prairie.

Re:jpizzow
I'm still waiting to meet a developer who "gets it". I'm not holding my breath.

It's back!

Does this say more about me or about the developer that I'm more surprised to see it back than I was to see it gone?

Um ... that it says "you read too much into things?"
Posted 2 years ago # -
and by "back" I mean with broken links and database errors ...

It looks like there is some patio furniture on one of the top balconies on the loft building; you can see it from Fourth. Maybe they are gearing up to do something (anything) after all.

Its a christmas miracle!
Their twitter has been updated recently as well for the first time since april with a promotional plug for the loft building and something about this being the best view in town of red white and boom:

Something tells me that they're back and just as incompetent as ever!

We'd taken a look at Jeffry Place around this time last year, and the sales person noted at the time that the lofts were complete, just waiting for elevator permits and inspections. They even hosted the Via Colori preparty there last year (sans elevator).
I'd love to see more progress taking place on this site, and while I understand their philosophy in holding off on the North Bank section until all the units are in contract, neither banks nor consumers are willing to shell out thousands for an empty lot.Posted 2 years ago #
