WINNER OF NBC’S THE SING-OFF: A competition of the best a cappella groups in the country. This all-male group was founded in 2003 by four high school students at Forest Lake Academy. The group stayed together as they progressed to Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Committed has been compared to many a cappella groups like Take 6, and Connect 5, especially since both of these groups came from Oakwood as well. However, what makes Committed different from these groups is that they are not limited to one style of music. 4 out the 6 members are instrumentalists. Their versatility and ability to sing different genres of music is very impressive. Committed is a versatile a cappella act that infuses R&B, pop, gospel/soul, jazz, and doo-wop.
