Bump!
Hope everyone had a great NYE! Our menu for tomorrow has some items that are traditionally eaten at the first of the year so make sure you get to St James tomorrow.
Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup
Sliced rice cakes, hand made dumplings in a beef broth. Koreans always start the new year with a bowl of rice cake soup to celebrate being another year older.
Classic Dddukbokki
For the non meat eaters who want to join in the tradition we will also have the traditional rice cakes in spicy broth with carrots, onions, and cabbage. I'll have cheese and chilies for toppings as well.
Beef Mandu (potstickers)
Handmade, no preservatives beef potstickers served with dipping sauce.
Bulgogi Hodduk
Marinated shaved beef sirlion stuffed in chewy hodduk dough and cooked on the griddle.
Kimchi Hot Dog
You know it, you love it. 1/4lb beef and pork frank from The Good Frank topped with our cucumber kimchi and spicy mayo
Mushroom Rice Porridge
"Peas and Greens" Hodduk
Okay, not really. But it is a green tea hodduk stuffed with sweet red bean paste. Koreans eat patjuk or red bean porridge around the solstice to ward off evil spirits so think of it as a yummy lucky charm.
Traditional Hodduk
See everyone there!
